President Trump's attorney has requested a mistrial on Tuesday, citing concerns over the testimony of prosecution witness Stormy Daniels in his ‘hush money’ trial. Judge Merchan has already denied the defense’s request.
Blanche contended that the court established “guardrails,” and Daniels' testimony exceeded those boundaries.
“A lot of the testimony that this witness talked about today is way different than the story she was peddling in 2016,” Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche said.
During her testimony, Daniels stated that there was a power imbalance during her encounter with Trump, based off his wealth and influence. “There was an imbalance of power for sure,” she said. “He was bigger and blocking the way. [But] I was not threatened verbally or physically,” Daniels also said.
Prior to Daniels' returning to finish the testimony after a break, Judge Juan Merchan has already denied the defense’s motion for a mistrial.
