Trump Announces Major Diesel Fuel Deal with Russia, Claims Price Relief Coming

by | Oct 9, 2026

President Trump said Friday he concluded a “highly successful” discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin that will flood the market with Russian diesel.

According to Trump, Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the American and global markets, followed by 500,000 tons in November and another 1 million tons shortly after. Russia is also expected to deliver an additional 3 million tons “within a short period of time,” depending on the condition of its refineries.

Trump credited the deal, along with “TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz,” with driving diesel prices down “IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST.” He said lower fuel costs for farmers, ranchers, and truckers remain his top priority.
