Attorney Ty Clevenger, representing interests in the Seth Rich case, revealed that a government attorney informed him that several hundred pages of documents related to Seth Rich have been located in a previously hidden, unmapped, and sealed area within the FBI’s SCIF at the J. Edgar Hoover Building.
This ties directly into a July 30, 2025, Fox News Digital report about newly installed FBI Director Kash Patel and his team discovering the secret space containing “burn bags” with thousands of pages of classified files slated for destruction, many linked to the 2016 Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
The persistent questions surrounding Rich’s 2016 murder have long centered on the theory that he was the source behind the DNC email leaks to WikiLeaks, rather than a Russian hack as officially pushed, with his death quickly dismissed as a random “botched robbery” despite the circumstances. The repeated FBI contradictions have only intensified suspicions of a broader cover-up involving high-level intelligence and political figures tied to the 2016 election controversies.
Back in 2017, the FBI told Clevenger it had zero records on Seth Rich, claiming no involvement in his murder investigation and insisting it was handled solely by local police. Over time, the bureau has been forced to admit possessing several thousand pages, Seth’s work laptop, an image of his personal laptop, and a DVD. As recently as June 15, 2026, Clevenger filed another motion accusing the FBI of withholding records in violation of court orders.
