The agent is suspected of feeding information to a recent MS NOW story that detailed how members of Vance’s security team were frustrated by the demands of the vice president’s personal travel schedule. That report included specifics about the vice president’s movements that immediately set off alarms.
Secret Service, FBI, and White House officials reacted angrily to the operational details appearing in the media. One White House official labeled the leaks of the vice president’s travel “treasonous,” noting that Vance and his family were left uneasy about what the disclosures revealed regarding the integrity of their protective detail.
