President Trump’s Inauguration Likely Moving Indoors Due to Extreme Cold

by | Jan 17, 2025

President Trump’s inauguration is expected to be moved indoors on Monday due to dangerously cold temperatures forecasted for Washington, D.C., according to multiple sources familiar with the plans.

Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance are now likely to take their oaths of office inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, the sources said. While discussions about the location of the inaugural parade and other celebrations are ongoing, Trump’s team is exploring alternatives to the traditional outdoor events.

One possibility under consideration is holding portions of the festivities at the Capital One Arena, where Trump is scheduled to host a rally on Sunday. Officials are working to finalize the arrangements as the historic day approaches.
