President Trump on Wednesday nominated federal prosecutor Colin McDonald to serve as assistant attorney general for national fraud enforcement, a newly created role at the Department of Justice.
McDonald currently serves as an associate deputy attorney general in the office of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. Announcing the nomination on Truth Social, Trump said the new division was created to target widespread fraud against taxpayers. “I am pleased to nominate Colin McDonald to serve as the first ever Assistant Attorney General for National FRAUD Enforcement, a new dvision at the Department of Justice, which I created to catch and stop FRAUDSTERS that have been STEALING from the American People,” Trump wrote.
Blanche called McDonald “instrumental” to federal crime-fighting efforts, writing on X, “Colin is a rockstar, who was instrumental in our team’s mission of Making America Safe Again.”
