President Trump announced that the next phase of the 20-point Gaza peace plan is underway, with the Board of Peace leading Gaza’s transition following the ceasefire.
As chairman of the Board of Peace, Trump said he is backing a new Palestinian technocratic government, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, to oversee the territory during the transition with support from the board’s high representative. He described the Palestinian leadership as committed to a peaceful future.
Trump added that the United States, working with Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar, will pursue a comprehensive demilitarization agreement with Hamas, including surrender of all weapons, dismantling of tunnels, and immediate return of the final body to Israel.
“The people of Gaza have suffered long enough,” Trump wrote, calling for progress through “peace through strength.”
