Netanyahu Orders “Forceful” Strikes in Gaza as Trump Urges Hamas to Accelerate Return of Hostage Bodies

by | Oct 28, 2025

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday ordered “forceful strikes” in Gaza after accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire by withholding the bodies of 13 hostages killed during or after the October 7, 2023, attacks.

The announcement came as President Trump pressed Hamas to accelerate the return of the deceased hostages amid ongoing efforts to maintain a fragile ceasefire.

Hamas has said the return of the remaining bodies “may take some time” due to widespread destruction in Gaza. Egyptian equipment and specialists have been deployed to assist in locating and recovering the missing hostages.
