Netanyahu Aides Indicted for Witness Intimidation

Three senior aides to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were indicted Tuesday for witness intimidation over a 2019 incident targeting Shlomo Filber, a key witness in Netanyahu’s criminal trial.

Ofer Golan, Jonatan Urich, and Yisrael Einhorn allegedly orchestrated a plan to harass Filber by sending a car with a loudspeaker to his home, playing recorded messages accusing him of lying and being used to undermine Likud. One message urged him to “tell the truth,” while another suggested police had pressured him into testifying against Netanyahu.

Golan and Urich, who still hold similar roles, criticized State Attorney Amit Aisman for taking nearly six years to file charges, noting that a previous prosecutor had recommended closing the case. Their lawyer, Amit Hadad, argued the evidence was questionable and that the men would likely be acquitted if tried.

Golan and Urich dismissed the indictment as weak, stating, “If they want a war, they’ll get a war. We’ll meet in court.”
