Loren Merchan, the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan overseeing President Trump's New York case, heads Authentic Campaigns, a company that serves a left-wing Soros-funded legal group involved in endeavors to keep Trump off the 2024 ballot.
This revelation about Judge Merchan's daughter's business affiliations adds to prior reports on Authentic Campaigns' work for Democratic figures like Joe Biden and Rep. Adam Schiff. Among the newly disclosed clients are the Brennan Center, known for its lawsuits against the Trump administration and campaign.
Authentic Campaigns' website lists the Brennan Center for Justice as a client. Supported by substantial funding from George Soros, the Brennan Center played a significant role in the recent bid to bar President Trump from the Colorado ballot for the 2024 election.
The group submitted an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to reject Trump's attempts to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court's decision to remove him from the ballot due to allegations of inciting an ‘insurrection’ on January 6th. The brief submitted by the Brennan Center urges the Court to dismiss Trump's efforts to revive the independent state legislature theory on appeal.
Authentic Campaigns' collaboration with the Brennan Center seems to have revolved around election-related initiatives, as evidenced by sample ads and campaigns on the firm's website addressing topics like safeguarding election officials and emphasizing the resilience of ‘democracy’ against threats.
The left-leaning nonprofit has initiated at least 14 lawsuits against President Trump and Cabinet members, covering various immigration and census-related matters. The Brennan Center also intervened to support Democratic election officials, including the Pennsylvania Secretary of State, amid legal challenges from the Trump campaign during the 2020 election.
