Vice President JD Vance attributed Republicans’ losses in Tuesday’s midterm elections primarily to the war with Iran, pointing to several other issues that contributed to voters abandoning the Republican Party.
In a lengthy post on X, Vance identified ending the war with Iran, addressing the cost of living and inflation, putting America first, and changing the U.S. relationship with Israel as the four steps recommended by an adviser and pollster to help Republicans bring back their voters.
“The reason we lost is the war,” Vance wrote, adding that President Trump had made the same assessment the previous night. He also challenged supporters of the war to argue whether its cost was worth losing Republican control of the Senate for the next six years.
