In a speech streamed on X, Joe Biden revealed that Israel has proposed a new ceasefire-hostage agreement ready for implementation, structured in three stages.
The initial phase would encompass a comprehensive ceasefire, IDF withdrawal from Gaza, partial release of remaining hostages, a prisoner swap, and the entry of 600 trucks into the strip, lasting six weeks.
The second phase aims for a “permanent end to hostilities,” with a provision to extend the ceasefire if necessary beyond six weeks. It involves the release of all remaining hostages, including soldiers, and the formal cessation of hostilities.
The third phase focuses on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, including the repatriation of hostages who died in Hamas captivity.
