Israel’s defense minister has ordered all remaining Palestinians to leave Gaza City, calling it their “last opportunity” to evacuate before facing the “full force” of Israel’s renewed offensive.
About 400,000 Palestinians have already fled the city since Israel’s campaign to occupy it began last month, but hundreds of thousands remain. Nearly 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced. “This is the last opportunity for Gaza residents who wish to do so to move south,” Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on X. “Those who remain in Gaza will be (considered) terrorists and terror supporters.”
On Friday, President Trump posted on Truth Social that Hamas has until 6 P.M. Sunday (Washington, D.C. time) to accept a peace agreement backed by Israel, the United States, and regional powers, and to release all hostages. He also urged innocent Palestinians to evacuate the combat zone and move to safer parts of Gaza, saying they would be cared for by humanitarian partners.
“If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached,” Trump wrote, “all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. There will be peace in the Middle East one way or the other.”
