FBI Disrupted Attack Plot Targeting UFC Freedom 250 Event

by | Jun 16, 2026

The FBI and partner agencies say they disrupted an attack plot targeting the UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C.

Officials say five suspects are in custody and 23 individuals were identified as part of a broader network. Investigators allege the plan involved explosive-laden drones aimed at nearby buildings to trigger a mass evacuation, followed by a staged sniper attack on fleeing crowds. Authorities also say a “second wave” plan involved a potential move toward a White House gate.

The FBI launched its investigation on June 10, coordinating across at least 12 field offices. One suspect, identified as Tycen Proper, was arrested in Cincinnati. Two others, Bryan Omar Roa and Michael Alan Thomas, were arrested in California and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Additional arrests were made in Missouri and Nebraska.

Officials say communications reviewed included Signal chats involving at least 23 users discussing pre-operational activity and potential travel to Virginia ahead of the alleged attack window. The Secret Service said it worked closely with the FBI throughout the investigation, calling the response a coordinated effort to identify and detain those involved.

Investigators say the alleged motive included targeting “capitalist elites,” billionaires, and political figures linked to donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. All individuals in custody are believed to be U.S. citizens, according to sources.
