Far-left blogger Ken Klippenstein has released an internal vetting dossier on 2024 Republican vice presidential nominee, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH). Klippenstein, formerly associated with The Intercept and The Young Turks, published the document—believed to have been hacked by the Islamic Republic of Iran—on his Substack on Thursday.
The document reveals private details about Vance, including his social security number, personal phone number, addresses, and email information. Klippenstein did not redact any of this data, raising concerns about the potential threat to Vance and his family.
The 271-page dossier itself is typical of campaign vetting processes, addressing past policy positions and statements while evaluating their potential impact on the 2024 presidential ticket. It highlights Vance’s initial opposition to Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and questions regarding his conservative credentials. However, the document portrays Vance as more moderate than often depicted by Democrats and the Kamala Harris campaign, showing him to be open to a variety of policies and ideological views.
