CDC Pulls Scientific Papers and Cuts Gender Ideology Funding Under New Administration Directive

by | Feb 3, 2025

In compliance with a recent executive order from President Trump, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been directed to withdraw all scientific papers involving its researchers from external journals.

This directive mandates the removal of language that does not align with the administration’s recognition of only two sexes, male and female, specifically targeting terms such as gender, transgender, LGBT, and nonbinary. CDC scientists are also instructed to remove their names from co-authored papers originating outside the agency.

The Department of Health and Human Services has also announced that CDC grant funding for any programs related to “gender ideology” has been “immediately, completely, and permanently terminated.”

The email from HHS follows President Trump's executive order: Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism And Restoring Biological Truth To The Federal Government — which directed the federal government to recognize only two sexes: male and female.
