Arizona Court Orders Secretary of State to Release Voter List Missing Proof of Citizenship

by | Oct 31, 2024

The Superior Court of Arizona has ruled in favor of America First Legal’s lawsuit against Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, ordering him to release a list of approximately 218,000 individuals who registered to vote without providing required proof of citizenship.

This order follows AFL’s September lawsuit on behalf of the Strong Communities Foundation of Arizona (EZAZ.org), asserting that public records law mandates such disclosure.

The court’s decision requires Fontes to produce the list by November 4, 2024, the day before the presidential election. AFL notes that this release is crucial to ensuring election integrity, as Arizona’s 2020 presidential election was “decided” by a narrow margin of 10,457 votes. EZAZ.org plans to share the list with Arizona county recorders and state legislators for further verification.
