A U.S. diplomat stationed at the American Embassy in Jerusalem has passed away

A member of the US Embassy staff in Jerusalem has passed away, as confirmed by the embassy on Monday. The deceased individual is not the US Ambassador to Israel, according to a US spokesperson.

In a brief statement, an embassy spokesperson confirmed the death, stating “We can confirm the death of an American employee of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. We have no further details to share.”

They mentioned that foul play is not suspected but have not provided additional information at this time. The diplomat was discovered deceased in their apartment.
