President Trump on Thursday announced the creation of a new Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), to be led by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
The council will be charged with shaping new policies on immigration and border security, with a focus on stopping the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. and strengthening enforcement at the southern border.
Members of the newly formed panel include South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Fox News commentator Mark Levin, conservative media figure Bo Dietl, and Republican National Committee Treasurer Joseph Gruters.
“I am proud to announce the formation of my revamped [HSAC], which is comprised of Top Experts in their field, who are highly respected by their peers,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Under [Noem’s] leadership, HSAC will work hard on developing new Policies and Strategies that will help us secure our Border, deport Illegal Criminal Thugs, stop the flow of Fentanyl and other illegal drugs that are killing our Citizens, and MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN,” he added.
