The judge presiding over President Trump's trial in New York found him in contempt of court on Tuesday for breaching a gag order that restricts his commentary on individuals involved in the case.

Judge Merchan stated that Trump violated the order nine times in recent weeks and imposed a fine of $9,000, equating to $1,000 for each infraction.

Prosecutors from Bragg's office submitted a motion urging the judge to hold Trump in contempt for 10 posts targeting Michael Cohen, Stormy Daniels, and others. Additionally, they outlined four additional instances where they allege Trump breached the order during last Thursday's court session. These four purported violations will be the focus of a hearing scheduled for later this week.

Trump is required to delete seven “offending posts” from Truth Social and two from his campaign website by 2:15 p.m. today.
