Trump Demands Investigation Into Illegal Payments for Celebrity Endorsements of Kamala Harris

by | May 20, 2025

President Trump is calling for a “major investigation” into what he claims were improper payments made to celebrities who endorsed Kamala Harris during her 2024 presidential campaign.

In social media posts Monday, Trump accused the Harris campaign of disguising illegal endorsement payments as entertainment expenses, writing, “Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment.”

Trump named Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen, and Beyoncé as celebrities who allegedly received improper compensation. All three appeared at high-profile Harris campaign events last year.

Campaign finance records show the Harris campaign paid Harpo Productions, Winfrey’s company, a whopping $1 million for “event production” in October 2024, following Winfrey’s on-stage interview with Harris in Detroit. Parkwood was paid $165,000 in November 2024, shortly after Beyoncé performed at a Houston rally. Springsteen’s company, Thrill Hill Productions, received about $75,000 for “travel and event production” following his appearance at a Georgia campaign event. Springsteen has not commented publicly on the payment.
