A New York appellate court is set to hear Donald Trump's appeal of the limited gag order imposed on him in his hush money prosecution.
It is not clear what Trump’s lawyers will argue due to sealed filings, but they have previously expressed concerns about how the gag order limits his ability to campaign as the presumptive Republican nominee and defend himself legally.
The challenge to the gag order is structured as an administrative petition against Judge Juan Merchan, who has prohibited Trump from making attacks against witnesses, prosecutors, and court staff.
Trump has utilized a similar method before to challenge a limited gag order in his civil fraud case, securing a temporary stay initially, although the full appeals court eventually upheld the gag order in that instance.
Oral arguments are scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
