U.S. authorities have arrested a top MS-13 leader, an illegal migrant who oversaw the gang’s operations on the East Coast and ranked among the top three nationwide. The arrest was part of a Trump-backed crackdown in Virginia that has led to the capture of more than 340 criminals in the past month alone, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced.
“This is what happens when you let good cops be cops,” FBI Director Kash Patel said at a press conference following the Thursday morning raid in Prince William County. The suspect, a 24-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was taken into custody near Dale City.
Few details have been released about the operation, which involved the FBI, ICE, ATF, Virginia State Police, and local law enforcement.
Calling the suspect “the worst of the worst,” Bondi emphasized that the arrest aligns with the mission given to her by President Trump.
“President Trump’s directive to me when I became Attorney General was to keep America safe, and make America safe again,” she said.
“We didn’t need new laws, as President Trump said, we needed a new President.”
