The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal from Clifford James Frost, one of Michigan’s alternate electors who declared President Trump the rightful winner of the state in 2020.
Frost was among 16 Republicans charged by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel for submitting an alternate slate of electors after the election. He argued the prosecution was politically motivated, claiming Nessel sought to “retaliate against and/or punish” the Republican electors for contesting the results.
A Michigan judge dismissed the charges against Frost earlier this year, citing insufficient evidence. AG Nessel said after the ruling that her office was “evaluating” if they would appeal. Her office waived its right to respond to Frost’s petition to the Supreme Court.
