A federal jury has found Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted him on more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
Jurors found Combs not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and cleared him of two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, related to his ex-girlfriends Cassie Ventura and a second woman who testified under the pseudonym “Jane.” He was convicted on one prostitution-related count tied to Ventura and another connected to Jane.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo urged the judge to release Combs immediately, proposing a $1 million cash bond backed by three financially responsible co-signers. Combs nodded in agreement during the argument.
“He has been acquitted of very serious charges,” Agnifilo said, acknowledging the prostitution convictions but emphasizing that they are “a crime of a vastly different nature.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Ryan Comey said the government opposes releasing Combs on bond.
