President Trump is requesting that New York's highest court rescind the limited gag order preventing him from discussing witnesses, lawyers, and others involved in his ongoing trial, according to a new court filing.
The filing, which is sealed, follows an intermediate appeals court's decision to uphold the gag order imposed by the trial judge, Juan Merchan. Trump has rightfully labeled the gag order as unconstitutional.
The intermediate appellate court ruled that the order ‘appropriately’ balanced Trump's free speech rights with the court's need to maintain control over the trial.
