President Trump Ends NIH-Funded Security Detail for Fauci

by | Jan 24, 2025

President Trump has terminated the security detail provided by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The protection, which was withdrawn Thursday night, had been in place due to ongoing threats Fauci faced during his high-profile role in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the move, Fauci has hired private security, which he will fund personally, to address safety concerns.

In addition to Fauci, Trump has also revoked security details for former National Security Adviser John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
