The judge assigned to Hunter Biden’s felony gun case in Delaware has tentatively scheduled his trial for June 3, just weeks before Hunter’s tax trial in Los Angeles is scheduled to begin (June 20).
Judge Maryellen Noreika suggested the parties ask the California-based federal judge to reschedule a June 3 pretrial hearing to accommodate the Delaware case's opening, during a brief scheduling conference on Wednesday.
If the judge agrees to reschedule the pretrial hearing for the tax case, the trial for the gun case would begin on June 3. According to the attorneys involved, the trial is expected to last up to two weeks, with approximately one to two days dedicated to jury selection and up to five days for the government to present its case.
Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, anticipates needing only two days for the defense's case.
Judge Noreika is working on several motions to dismiss filed by Lowell, and plans to rule as soon as possible.
