On Tuesday, a New York appeals court judge denied Donald Trump’s latest attempt to delay his criminal case in Manhattan.
Trump had hoped the appeals court would both postpone the criminal case and lift a gag order, but his request to pause the case while pursuing legal action against the trial judge, Juan M. Merchan, was dismissed by Judge Cynthia S. Kern.
During a brief hearing, the Manhattan district attorney’s office, responsible for the charges against Trump, argued in favor of upholding the gag order, which prevents Trump from targeting witnesses, prosecutors, and the judge’s family.
Despite Justice Kern's ruling against Trump, he has the option to have his request reviewed by a full panel of five appellate court judges.
