Judge Grants Trump’s Request to File Motion to Dismiss, Delays Sentencing in Hush Money Case

by | Nov 22, 2024

Judge Juan Merchan has postponed President-elect Donald Trump’s sentencing in his criminal hush money case, originally set for November 26, according to an order issued Friday.

The delay allows Trump’s defense team to file a motion to dismiss the case, with a deadline of December 2 for submission.

Trump was set to be sentenced after a May conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Trump has denied all wrong-doing, labeling the conviction a political witch hunt.
