Jordan’s King Abdullah II has arrived in Washington, D.C., for discussions with the Trump administration. The king is set to meet with President Trump on Tuesday, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and the President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
He has already held talks with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The visit comes as Trump pushes Jordan and Egypt to accept more refugees from Gaza as part of his broader Middle East strategy. “I do think he’ll take, and I think other countries will take also,” Trump told reporters Monday. “They have good hearts.”
A longtime U.S. ally, Jordan already hosts more than 2 million Palestinian refugees. Later Tuesday, Trump is expected to sign additional executive orders.
