by | May 24, 2024

Special Counsel Jack Smith on Friday requested a federal judge impose restrictions on President Trump’s statements in the ongoing classified documents case. Smith's motion aims to prevent Trump from making comments that could ‘endanger law enforcement personnel’.

In the filing, Smith stated, “The Government moves to modify defendant Donald J. Trump’s conditions of release, to make clear that he may not make statements that pose a significant, imminent, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement agents participating in the investigation and prosecution of this case.”
