On Friday, the House approved the renewal of Section 702 of FISA, reforming and extending it for two years.
The vote, which passed by a margin of 273-147, demonstrated bipartisan support, with both Republicans and Democrats endorsing the bill. Of those who backed the legislation, 126 were Republicans and 147 were Democrats. This decision came after a tense vote that narrowly rejected an amendment seeking to expand warrant requirements for surveillance in various scenarios.
