House Oversight Committee Subpoenas Top Biden Adviser in Mental Fitness Probe

by | Jun 26, 2025

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Wednesday subpoenaed Anthony Bernal, a former Assistant to President Biden and Senior Advisor to the First Lady, ordering him to appear for a deposition on July 16 as part of the committee’s investigation into the cover-up of Joe Biden’s mental decline and potentially unauthorized executive actions.

Bernal had previously agreed to sit for a voluntary transcribed interview on June 26 but declined to appear after the White House Counsel’s Office notified him that executive privilege was being waived for the investigation.
