The House voted 286-134 on Friday to approve a comprehensive $1.2 trillion government funding bill, promptly forwarding it to the Senate mere hours before the impending shutdown deadline.
With all 100 senators required to endorse a vote for its passage before midnight, failure to do so would precipitate a partial government shutdown come Saturday morning.
Joe Biden has urged Congress to swiftly advance the bill and pledged his readiness to sign it upon passage.
