Former FBI informant accused of fabricating information about Biden business dealings has been re-arrested

by | Feb 22, 2024

After being arrested last week on suspicion of fabricating information about the Bidens’ business dealings with a Ukrainian energy company, former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov was re-arrested on Thursday.

A Nevada judge released 43-year-old Smirnov earlier this week. On Thursday, a judge in California ordered his arrest once more after federal prosecutors claimed he was in danger of fleeing.

Federal prosecutors charged Alexander Smirnov with lying to the FBI about a phony multimillion dollar bribery scheme involving the Bidens and the Ukrainian energy company Burisma and claimed that the informant is “actively peddling new lies that could impact U.S. elections”.
