Pertaining to an investigation into possible political interference with the accelerated approval of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, Select Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup addressed a letter to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Robert Califf on Thursday.
The letter mentions a recent Select Subcommittee hearing where Dr. Peter Marks ‘testimony suggested that the FDA's approval of the COVID-19 vaccine may have been delayed in order to meet government agency deadlines. The Biden Administration demanded COVID-19 vaccine mandates the day after the FDA approved the vaccine.
Additionally, the letter asks CAF to provide documents related to the COVID-19 vaccine approval process and transcripts of interviews with Dr. Marks and former FDA Commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock.
James Comer asked Marks at a Feb.15 hearing if he recalled any conversations regarding the need to approve the vaccines in order for the vaccines to be mandated.
Marks responded that there was an acknowledgment that an approval could allow vaccine mandates to occur.
Wenstrup renewed the committee’s request for interviews with Marks and Woodcock, asking for responses to his inquiries no later than March 14th.
