Senator Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, has been convicted on all 16 counts in his federal corruption trial. The charges include bribery, extortion, wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and acting as a foreign agent, stemming from his involvement in a prolonged bribery scheme.
The bribery trial of Sen. Bob Menendez’s wife, Nadine Menendez, has also been postponed indefinitely as she undergoes cancer treatment. U.S. District Judge Sidney H. Stein announced the decision on Monday, stating that the trial is adjourned “sine die,” a term meaning without a set date.
