Biden’s biggest donors are funding Pro-Palestinian protestors

by | May 6, 2024

For months, Joe Biden has faced persistent protests from pro-Palestinian demonstrators labeling him “Genocide Joe.” Interestingly, some of these protesting groups are supported financially by donors such as Soros, Rockefeller, and Pritzker, prominent figures in Democratic circles who are staunchly advocating for Biden's reelection.

Two of the organizers backing the protests at Columbia University and various other campuses are Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow. Both organizations receive support from the Tides Foundation, which has ties to Democratic megadonor George Soros and previously received backing from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Tides Foundation, in turn, provides funding to numerous smaller nonprofits dedicated to promoting social change.

Another significant Democratic donor contributing to the protest movement is David Rockefeller Jr., who serves on the board of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. In 2022, the fund allocated $300,000 to the Tides Foundation. According to nonprofit tax filings, over the past five years, the Tides Foundation has provided nearly $500,000 to Jewish Voice for Peace, an organization explicitly identifying as anti-Zionist.

Several additional groups participating in pro-Palestinian protests receive support from a foundation financed by Susan and Nick Pritzker, heirs to the Hyatt Hotel empire. The Pritzkers are supporters of Biden and various Democratic campaigns, having contributed $6,600 to the Biden Victory Fund just a few months ago, and over $300,000 during the 2020 campaign.

Jewish Voice for Peace, despite not responding to a request for comment, has been at the forefront of disruptive protests targeting Biden. The organization stages protests on campuses nationwide. In a statement released immediately after the October 7 attacks, they asserted that the root cause of the violence was “Israeli apartheid and occupation,” and emphasized the United States' complicity in that oppression.
